Electric Picnic Pick #2 - The Radioactive Grandma

It's that time of the year nearly every Irish bands gets to update their status with 'We're Playing The Picnic'. To help you find the best bands on the schedule before you get to Stradbally I'll be picking ten relatively unknown bands for you to find at Electric Picnic.

The Radioactive Grandma from Co. Cavan have been chosen by 'Jimmie Lee's Juke Joint' to perform in their cafe/venue over the weekend at Electric Picnic. The band released their debut self-titled album in May of this year and it has some good moments to it. Their indie sound of guitars, cajon/percussion and 'Bloc Party' style vocals is in many ways relatively unique in a crowded market of Irish rock bands. While the album doesn't light a fire in me The Radioactive Grandma are a band I'd have to recommend to see at Electric Picnic.

Here's a highlight from that debut album;
